How did you get started in Bridge? At what age? Who do you learn from?

A rainy day at the beach, when I was about 19, from friends of the family who vaguely knew how to play.

What do (did) you do professionally

Bridge player, director, teacher and administrator.

Who is your partner and for how long? Longest Partnership?

George Kozakos for the Senior’s team. I am a late replacement so we are a new partnership! Many partners over the years most recently Tania Lloyd for the last few years.

If you had a choice who would you like to play with? Australia and Internationally – living or dead.

The Bridge Bum – Alan Sontag. A great player and a friend.

In your playing career, what is the bridge success that has the most meaning for you?

Representing Australia in several World Championships.

And your worst moment in bridge?

Losing the semi-final of the NOT one year by 2 IMPs after bidding a slam missing two aces on the last board!

What do you do between sessions to put you in the best frame of mind for the following sessions?

Sleep

Do you have a favourite and least favourite convention?

Favourite: 2 Way Checkback (XYZ) Least Favourite: Gerber

Would you prefer to have more system or less?

What do you to do to improve your game?

Play a lot and bid a lot of hands on CueBids app.

Cryptic crosswords, science fiction/fantasy, bushwalking

Introduced me to many fascinating people.

Won many Australian National Events, came second in more.

State Representation

Represented Tasmania in open team many times, ACT in Youth teams 5 times (a long time ago!) and in Open several times, captained NSW Seniors team once (my only Seniors event although I was too young to play)

National / International Representation

Australian Open Team: Olympiad 1992, PABF 1995, Bermuda Bowl 1995, PABF 1999, PABF 2011, Bermuda Bowl 2011
