The ABF Newsletter is designed to provide news and information to club players in Australia.
The newsletter is aimed at the average bridge player – things like human interest stories, match reports suitable for the average player, club news, winners of events, Letters to the Editor, as well as regular features like Paul Lavings’ column and Laurie Kelso’s column, as well as material which can be found on the ABF website should provide the bulk of the Newsletter
In general, the Editor has discretion about Newsletter content.
Advertising should be bridge-related and/or of interest to the majority of readers.
Suitable advertising could include bridge holidays*, bridge software and books, bridge events, bridge gifts and paraphernalia.
Products deemed to be of interest and benefit to most bridge players (i.e. superannuation advice, wealth management, insurance, etc.) may also be considered especially if those products are sold by a bridge sponsor.
The rate card shown below has a base rate for full page regular advertising by bridge product promoters. Loadings are applied for smaller sizes, casual advertising and non-bridge advertising.
Sponsors of bridge are able to access the cheaper rates rather than the commercial rates as shown in the non-bridge advertiser’s columns. These non-bridge rates approximate the market value of advertising in a newsletter of this circulation. Advertising accepted that is of interest to bridge players is discounted to assist bridge product promoters (and bridge sponsors) and our readers who are bridge product consumers.
*In regards to advertisements for bridge tours or holidays, the name of the tour guide or director must be shown on the ad. It is not enough to put the name of a travel agent, for example, who is handling bookings and enquiries. The bridge players deserve to know who will be conducting the bridge part of the tour.
This rate card is a guide only and subject to change each June.
