My ABF Team Update
Sean Munley
Sean has this week joined our team as the Project Manager for MyABF.
Sean is a semi-retired seasoned Program Manager with over 40 years successful program and project delivery experience with a strong emphasis on Technology and Business Transformation.
Sean worked across the UK, Europe, North America and Africa before moving to Australia. In the last 20 years he has successfully delivered programs and consulting services for some of Australia’s most significant organisations.
Like many of us in the bridge world, Sean learned to play bridge many years ago but stopped playing to focus on family and career. Having recently retired from full time employment Sean has taken up bridge again and is one of the newest members of the South Gippsland Bridge Club.
Sean’s responsibilities on the My ABF project will be to oversee the delivery of the planned enhancements to My ABF. He will manage the day-to-day activities of the project team focused on ensuring we deliver the software to budget and on time. Sean will be the key contact for clubs and state/territory associations on all matters related to the ongoing development of My ABF. Sean will be working for us approximately 2.5 days per week.
Please note that Julian Foster is continuing in his role as My ABF Manager and will continue to be heavily involved in the design, development oversight, testing and training aspects of My ABF. Julian continues to be the point of contact for questions regarding the operation of My ABF in its current form.
John Grosvenor
Over the past 12 months John has been the developer working on the My ABF software. We were extremely fortunate that John was available to take on this role back in December last year and since then he, working closely with Julian, has delivered a number of significant enhancements. This culminated in the release V6.0 which went live just over a week ago. This new release provides clubs with the ability to manage their membership database including the annual membership renewal process. You can find more details about the release in the Announcements section on your My ABF Dashboard.
For personal reasons John has advised that he needs to step back from his development role. Whilst John’s decision represents a significant loss to our team, and the ABF, I am extremely grateful that John has agreed to join the My ABF Steering Committee so his significant knowledge of our software will be by no means lost.
Stephen Fischer
Stephen, a current BFACT Councillor, has been a great contributor to the ABF over recent years having also had roles on the ABF Board and the My ABF Steering Committee. Due to his own personal reasons Stephen resigned from those roles last year. It is with great pleasure that I can advise that Stephen has joined the My ABF team as a developer. Stephen will be focusing on developing minor enhancements and fixing bugs as they are reported to us.
Stephen is not replacing John. I am working with the My ABF team to review the resources that we will require for the next phase of development in 2025.
Please join me in welcoming Sean, thanking John and celebrating Stephen’s return.
