My ABF upgrade was successful
Vale Stephen Burgess
Stephen Burgess passed away January 3, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held at the Grand Slam Bridge Centre, Double Bay on Friday January 9 at 1pm.

In the early morning of Monday 29th December we will be doing an update to the My ABF database.
Update to Playoff Qualifying Points (PQPs)
Effective immediately, PQPs will accrue to partnerships rather than individual players. This change applies to all PQP-earning events from the 2025 GNOT onwards and will affect the 2027 Open and Mixed Teams Playoffs.
Vale Marika Pogany
The Australian Bridge Federation was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Marika Pogany, who was tragically killed in the recent Bondi Beach attack.

The WHAM team (Michael Whibley, Sartaj Hans, Andy Hung and Matt Brown) are defending champions of the Gold Teams, having won the $75,000 AUD first prize last year.
Update: the WHAM team successfully defended the Gold Teams defeating the OLIMP team 164-137 in the final.
